~*~ Hello and welcome to the Textile Trunk! Please follow us on Instagram @textiletrunk ~*~

I've been collecting antique French ticking now for over 20 years! I have a vast collection and I'm selling some very closely matching pieces together for larger projects. These pieces are very close indeed, not exact but close. They would create a fabulous vibe of hunted, eclectic look , as found rather than off the shelf ~*~ This ticking bundle equates to approximately 6 yards of fabric. ~ Ideal for a small armchair or similar! When you need some time touched flair!!! ~Ideal for pillow makers and upholstery projects, or Christmas ornaments, stockings, you name it! *~ They each date from c1900 or just before. ~ ( armchair, ottoman etc) ! I'm selling this bundle at a lower price per piece as it's a bulk purchase and is UNWASHED , the first thing to do is throw it in the wash, normal cycle, with Oxyclean and Normal detergent on warm and tumble dry! ~ I like to add fabric softener to the final rinse for added softness. ! ~~ This bundle is ideal for projects such as pillows in the same area , where an eclectic , as found look is the goal! I use combinations like these in my own home, it gives a more collected / sourced look to an interior rather than off the shelf ! ~*~ They are each a heavy weight fabric, most are a linen and cotton mix. ! A wonderful stash for creative hands!! This bundle weighs 7 pounds! This pack can be thrown in the wash, machine wash and tumble dry for a nice floppy soft fabric! I like to use fabric softener in the final rinse. 7 pounds of wonderful, rare , historical fabric.

*The Word ticking is derived from the Latin word for case, Tica. Ticking fabric was used for creating mattress, as the European bedding system of old, consisted of many layers of textiles stuffed with straw and fodder at the bottom, and topped with a dense denim ( ticking) for the top layers, stuffed with feathers. The fabric came to be known as denim, as Nimes , France was one of the great producers of this ticking fabric...denim ( de Nimes! ) ~ a wonderful fabric for many projects. A wonderful, historical fabric.
