Vintage Frye Tall Lace Up Women 9 AA Brown Leather Riding 8300 Boots Black Label.

These boots have been in my family for decades. They originally belonged to my grandmother who was one of the most badass people you’ll ever meet. These boots were originally purchased by her back in the 70’s. She eventually gave them to my mother who didn’t like them and then passed them down to me. I wore them with pride for 20 years but now after kids, they aren’t getting the love and attention they demand!

I am a very solid size 8 1/2. These shoes are marked as size 9 narrow and they fit me perfectly. The lace-up style keeps the shoe firmly planted on your feet.

There is some wear to the front of the shoe. But that’s gonna happen when you've been kicking ass in a great pair of boots. The inner sole is solid leather. As is pretty much the rest of the boot. I tried to take a pic but I couldn’t get a clear one of deep inside. There is no Frye stamp on the outer heel and the black label with gold writing is only on the inside right shoe. The heel is also less than 3 inches and has a rubber bottom. All of these things are indicative of Frye boots manufactured in the 1960s-70s. A Google search on the history of Frye will give you the same information. These were purchased directly from Frye who handmade the boots in Marlborough MA.

There are a lot of people out there claiming to have "vintage" Frye boots or trying to pass them off as older than they are. In the case of Frye, older is definitely better because at the time, not only were they handmade but they were handmade in the USA. The leather and craftsmanship during the 60-70's was exceptional. Ownership changed hands and while they were still making great boots in the 80's and up until the late 90's and beyond, sadly, the company changed hands yet again, and started outsourcing their manufacturing and cut costs on the products and leather they now use.  All this to say, there is no comparison when it comes to the old verses the new. They absolutely don't make them like they used to. It's a shame! If you're going to spend that much money on a pair of boots, do your homework and make sure you are actually getting what you are paying for.

I'm here to help however I can. Even if you have questions about another pair of Frye boots. I've been scammed before so I get it and I now know what to look for. If you have any questions about these boots or any other Frye boots, please feel free to contact me.
