Item Description

Rare coffee cup and saucer in the "Chinese Circus" pattern made by Camille Le Tallec.

Hand painted (signatures under the cup and the saucer with the letter date "P/v" for 1973/1974)

Model taken over by Tiffany & Co. in the 2000s for its famous series "Private Stock".
The Chinese Circus pattern is an exquisite pattern with intricate, colorful and lovely scenes.
The pattern is made in a "chinoiserie" style which evokes scenes from 18th century China.
The Chinese Circus, in particular, features fanciful 18th-century depictions of Chinese circus performers with structures, trees and flowers.
Camille Le Tallec's workshop operated independently from 1930 to 1990 when it was acquired by Tiffany & Co.
During its long history, it created porcelain tableware for Kings and Queens like the Queen Elizabeth II and Kings Mohammed V and Hassan II of Morocco.
These types of pieces are now sold at Christie's or Sotheby's
