Pictured is an early blue & white spongeware mug offered for sale.  The mug has great dark cobalt blue sponging & is highlighted with three (3) cobalt blue slip bands around the midsection.  It measures 3 1/2" in height & dates from 1860 - 1885.  It's in excellent condition with a shallow flake to the base edge, see Pic.
