A signed presentation copy from the author, with the inscription 'John Williamson Esquire with the author's kind regards' to the front free endpaper.

Barrister at law William Edward Surtees presents a joint biographical work on the lives of Lord Chancellor Eldon and his brother, William Scot, Baron Stowell.

The author of this work was acquainted with this family, with his father having been friends with the subjects of the work.

With the further inscription James S. Woods, Dec 1912, to the front free endpaper also.

A charming biographical sketch.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to spine head and tail. Rear joint starting, with board holding firm but cloth of back strip detaching. Marks to boards. Inscriptions to front free endpaper. Pages bright, with light spotting throughout.
