The scarce first edition, second impression of this biographical account of a soldier's involvement in the East Africa Campaign of the First World War, in the very scarce original dust wrapper, price unclipped.

The work of Captain Angus Buchanan, a British army officer who served with the 25th Battalion Royal Fusiliers, also known as the Frontiersmen, and who participated in the campaign from May 1915 through October 1917.
He describes the march from British East Africa to German East Africa, through the regions of Mount Kilimanjaro, Lake Victoria, parts of the Belgian Congo, and the Lindi region of present-day Southeastern Tanzania, in this fascinating First World War narrative.
Illustrated with eight plates and three folding maps. Collated, complete.
With two pages of advertisements to the rear.
CONDITION
In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with bumping to spine head and tail. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Dust wrapper significantly age toned to back strip, lacking large portion to back strop head and centre of back strip, with a small loss to back strip tail. Fading to perimeters of front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
