Four volumes only from this very scarce, seven volume, early twentieth century work on the history of Europe and Denmark.
Collected from the work of various Nordic historians, and edited by Johan Ottosen and Niels Moller, present here are volumes I, II, III and VI out of seven, each illustrated throughout with vignette and full plate illustrations.
Consisting of volume I, published in 1911, 'Orienen og Hellas', illustrated with two folding maps and a double page plate.
Volume II, 1904, examining the Roman Empire, with two folding maps and one folding plate.
Volume III, 1908, discussing the Middle Ages from 400-1300, with one folding colour plate, and one folding monochrome plate.
Volume VI, 1911, covering the Enlightenment, with two folding facsimile plates, and two folding maps, one of which is in colour.
CONDITION
In half calf bindings, with paper covered boards. Light rubbing to back strip head and tails, and joints. Externally, smart. Internally, bindings a little loose, but still firmly held. Small tear at the tail of gutter to first few pages of volumes I, II and III. Pages age toned to perimeters, with instances of spotting to each volume, usually concentrated to page perimeters.
