The second edition of this vanishingly scarce work, with no record of it having been previously sold at auction. The first edition was published in 1862.

By Canadian born lawyer and opera manager Benjamin Lumley, who also penned 'Another World', and 'Reminiscences of the Opera'.
Ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper, 'Margaret A. Gray, Ap. 26th, /99'.
CONDITION
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart, with light marks to the boards and spine, heavier to the rear board. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Bookseller's label to the rear paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few occasional light handling marks.
