A beautiful pair of good quality antique Edwardian sterling silver candlesticks, made by the highly respected silversmith William Hutton & Sons Ltd London,, they are made from a good gauge of sterling silver, the bases are weighted, normally this amounts to approximately 20-35% non-silver as ballast weight, which still leaves a considerable sterling silver weight.
Having neoclassical style oval shaped bodies, with hand chased fluted bases decorated with lovely shaped boarders reflects the beautiful lines of this pair of candlesticks, they come in a plain design and are free from any engravings or monograms of any description, The underneath is lined with a blue velvet / baize protective material, the combined weight of the pair is an impressive 784 grams but they are weighted ( as most candlesticks ) these candlesticks are simply styled with beautiful elegance and style.
The pair come from King Edward VII period and are over 115 years of age.
The pair are in excellent antique condition, they look wonderful when displayed and would compliment any dining table or room with style and elegance and ready to do what they was made for.
They stand approximately 23 cm and stand on an oval fluted base approximately 12.1cm x 9,0 cm,
These candlesticks have the benefit of removable sconces, which is a great indicator for quality, the sconce candle fitting is approximately 2.3 cm in diameter , (Standard tapered size)

Some of the hallmarks are slightly rubbed, however readable and considering the age, very good.
Condition
Excellent Antique Condition, Bodies have No dents, dints or nasty scratches, base edges have a few small very minor marks ( very light dings ) Sconces are in perfect condition, they operate as they should as they fit perfectly. Blue velvet / baize protective material base is in very good condition, no stains or wear ( must of been renewed at one stage ) the underside of the bases do have some marks / minor dents / dings which is to be expected as its the contact surface area and commensurate with age and use ( Very minor ) a little rattle inside the candle sticks, which is just a little balance, not unusual at all, Silver is very bright with a great depth of shine, both candlesticks 100% straight and true, no wobbles, beautiful examples.
Considering this pair of candle sticks are 115 years of age, they must of been treasured, as they are in such excellent polished condition.
They display beautifully.
