Antique Victorian Longuard Chain

This is a beautiful 9 carat gold antique long guard chain, Popular in the Victorian times, guard or muff chains were used to hold the ladies fob watch securely or to attach to a woollen or fur muff or hand warmer.

The chain is a lovely belcher link chain interspersed with a double fetter link which fastens with a strong Albert end clasp.

 The long guard is 57" long and looks wonderful on.

There is a little '9.C' plaque next to the jump ring, and the Albert end clasp is also marked with '9ct'.
