The sulfur comes from Cozzo Disi mine located near the town of Casteltermini, Province of Agrigento.

This was one of the largest sulfur mines of Sicily, were discovered inside the large cavity (called Garbere) completely covered with crystals of sulfur and gypsum, among these the most important is the great Garbera which is in the third level of cultivation mining, discovered in the 40s.

Inside of this mine were extracted wonderful mineral sulfur lemon yellow, sulfur bituminous plaster with sulfur and aragonite pseudomorfa.

The mine was closed in 1989 along with the last six sulfur mines of Sicily

Be careful:

All my sulfur is natural and comes from the Sicilian mines (now all closed for 30 years).

But I see that there are many synthetic sulphurs, laboratory products, passed off as natural sulphurs, these sellers do not have the honesty to declare that they are synthetic products, on the contrary, sometimes they even write that they are Sicilian sulphurs.

The bad thing is that these synthetic sulfurs sell for even hundreds of dollars, and these synthetic sulfurs are also harmful to health, and also harmful if placed on display together with other natural minerals.
