Ok MUSTANG and FORD enthusiasts, You have heard of RARE< well, these are rarer than rare.
Most of you will say these never existed, but in fact, YES, they did.
I have worked for FORD in the parts dept. for 43 years, recently retired.
I first purchased a 1967 mustang GT 390 4 spd, deluxe interior, original paint car many years ago, and it had this very emblem on it, on the front fender. I originally thought someone put these one there, until I tried to pry one off, to find the original paint, original barrel nuts etc holding these on, they have NEVER been off the car since new. I thought they were off some other type of car, did years of research, found NOTHING., none on image search, no mention on any forum i ever found. I searched for years and I found 1 absolutely NOS factory FORD emblem. then years later found 2 more. I have the ORIGINAL emblem that was totally faded over the years, looked gold, but found hints of the red on the very edges. I have yet to see another one on any other mustang. I read one article that someone once SAW one on the back of a 67, but no photos. I hired a very well known and very EXPENSIVE emblem reproduction company to reproduce some for me, these factory ones are actually mounted on the C70B-16720-B ford mustang and Fairlane base. see pics. you can sometimes find the GTA nos bases, very spendy, or you can mount these on your original GTA bases or repro ones. they are heavy gauge metal, and mint. absolutely as the original ones were. SHOW QUALITY My mustang had one on the front of each fender, the one article I read had one on the back panel by the tail light. This is the first and most like ONLY time I will sell these, or even advertise them. The emblems are not in any ford cataloug, never listed, but these ate 100% real deal. More than likely prototypes. I will not sell the original NOS ones at this time, but I MAY sell the repro inserts I had made. They were VERY expensive to have recreated, but these truly are RARER THAN HENS TEETH.
