Anjbar, often known as Alpine Bistort or knotgrass, is a plant related to dock and buckwheat. It is also known as low grass, bird weed, pigweed, and prostrate knotweed. It is a perennial plant that grows in fields and wasteland and blooms from June to October with white flowers. The Botanical name of the herb is Polygonum Viviparum.

It is common in many temperate-zone countries, appears to be native to Eurasia and North America, and has naturalized in temperate zones of the Southern Hemisphere.

Knotgrass has low-lying, spreading stems that can grow up to one meter in length. The most common way to identify it is when it appears as a little, slightly spinally round growth with white flowers and tiny leaves.
