This fabulous is an 18th century, French hand block printed fabric dating from the late quarter of the 18th century. ( 1775-1795) This amazing fabric was hand block printed in Mulhouse. It was used as a ceil de lit topper!~ It would have had wonderful long matching curtains , bed cover etc ~
It's an arborescent and floral design. The cloth a very finely woven cotton with a small amount of linen ~ very finely woven. Gorgeous , chunky Indienne design ~ Gorgeous for any textile collection. Museum quality . This piece is all hand stitched and hand quilted ~

MEASUREMENTS: This textile measures approximately64 inches by 20 inches at the widest and longest points ~* ~

CONDITION: This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition for collectors. The linen is heavily stained so it can be cut away or used, it also has some rust stains, small holes ! This textile can be hand washed and hung to dry. It's very very important to use the zoom feature on the photographs to see the exact condition ~ all reflected in the price ~
