Horse hair pottery gets its distinctive look from the use of horse hair (tail and mane).  It is fired using a special technique which is very hazardous and time consuming,

The finer lines are created from the mane of the horse. The thicker lines are from the hair of the tail.  After the pot is fired it is spray glazed.

When firing and glazing is completed, the pottery is hand-etched and in some cases animal hide and/or stones may be applied.  Every pot is original and made in New Mexico.

Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and signed on bottom of vase by Tom Vail.
