Mid 19th Century North Indian Sterling & Enamel Elephant with Palanquin Figurine

This is a larger than typical statue weighing in at 457 grams. It is most likely from Benares, North India and is comprised of sterling silver, enamel and hard paste 'gemstones'  My great grandmother lived in India in this region and it comes from her personal collection. This is NOT your typical 'souvenir' piece. This is a high quality item of significant size and weight that is beautifully crafted.

Measurements: 5 7/8" high, 4 1/2" long, 2 1/2" deep

Weight: 457 Grams

Shipped with signature guarantee.

Very nice antique condition...a few areas of wear to enamel most significantly noted at top of canopy and underside of elephants trunk.  See last two photographs.
