Rare, classic printed work in Arabic by Siraj al-Din Urmavi (Urmawi) (594/1198-682/1283), a legal scholar and philosopher from Iran who contributed to the Islamization of Anatolia, and who wrote in Persian and Arabic, as here with his work on philosophy and logic Maṭāli' al-anwār fi al-ḥikma wa-l-manṭiq.

This edition was printed in Istanbul in 1277/1861, and represents quality Ottoman book publishing. It includes in the margins the commentary Lawāmiʿ al-asrār fi sharḥ maṭāliʿ al-anwār, by Muḥammad Quṭb al-Taḥtānī. (251 pages)

Also bound in the same volume is another commentary (ḥāshiya) on the Maṭāli' al-anwār. (150 pages), also printed in 1277/1861.

The volume measures 12 in x 8.25 in and is bound in the original leather, although someone unwisely sought to “repair” the spine with duct tape (ouch).
