DESIGNER
Vittorio GREGOTTI (Novara, 10 August 1927 – Milan, 15 March 2020) was an influential Italian architect, urban planner and architectural theorist. He graduated in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1952 and taught architecture in Venice, Milan and Palermo. He collaborated with the magazine "Casabella", becoming its director from 1982 to 1996. Gregotti adopted an architectural approach that integrated local culture and history of the place, detaching himself from the dominant theories inherited from the modern movement. He received the International Grand Prize at the 13th Milan Triennale in 1964 and was director of visual arts at the Venice Biennale from 1974 to 1976. He founded "Gregotti Associati International" in 1974, carrying out projects in various countries. He was the author of significant works such as "The territory of architecture" (1966) and "The visible city" (1991). He died at the age of 92 in Milan, following COVID-19 pneumonia.
BRAND
The company "Cleto Munari", founded in the early 1970s, has become a point of reference in design and furnishings, collaborating with well-known architects and artists. His stylistic research, intense in the early years, led to the creation of luxury objects in silverware, jewelery and watches, later extending to glass, ceramics, writing, furniture, carpets and leather. The collections, often limited and unique, have achieved international success and have been exhibited in prestigious museums and galleries. Notable examples include the 1982 Silver Collection, the 1985 Jewelry Collection, and the 1987 Watch Collection. Over the years, Munari has also explored Murano glass art and collaborated with writers on unique projects such as "The Five Pens" and "I Magnifici 7". In 2016, Cleto Munari returned to jewelry design, and in 2020 he created a brooch to commemorate Dante Alighieri. Recent initiatives include exhibitions and new collections, such as that of marble tables, which continue to celebrate Munari's talent and innovation.
