It is also very detailed, particularly in the treatment of the hair which is difficult to cast and often simplified with inferior statues. Expertly modelled by a professional sculptur trained at London's famous St Martin's College, it is a unique piece you will not find anywhere else. The head is slightly tilted in thoughtful meditative pose. This version depicts Marcus the writer and philosopher. In other statues you will see him in Roman military clothing as head of state.
