1992 Marvel Masterpieces - (All art by the legendary Joe Jusko) 100 Card Base Set, 5 Card complete Spectra Etch, 5 Lost Ladies Cards + Sealed serial numbered tin (with 5 Lost Ladies Cards still inside)

The 1992 SkyBox Marvel Masterpieces base set has 100 cards with all but the last card, a checklist, focusing on a specific Marvel character. What stands out instantly is the level of detail in Jusko's work. His lifelike approach gives even the most over-the-top characters a much more lifelike take.

At the time of its release, inserts were starting to show up more, but they were still secondary to the base set. This is reflected in 1992 Skybox Marvel Masterpieces as there is just one insert set. 5 Spectra-Etch Battle cards present some of the most epic fights in Marvel's history.

SkyBox produced tin factory sets, as well. Numbered to 35,000 total sets, each came with five exclusive "Lost Marvel" cards. Although numbered differently, they're like a small expansion of the main set and feature 5 leading ladies in the Marvel Universe. getting scarcer by the day.....

Marvel Masterpieces 1993 - Base and Chase Sets plus 2 sealed card packs

1993 SkyBox Marvel Masterpieces has a 90-card base set. Covering both the major and not-so-major characters of the Marvel landscape, card fronts come with painted images.

The artist list is big. Names include George Perez, Julie Bell, Joe Chiodo and Joe Jusko. The full-bleed shots are accented by a striped foil name bar at the bottom. The Marvel Masterpieces name is also in foil along the top of the card.

Backs have a write-up on the featured character including their real name and group affiliation. The side of the card includes an image of the first panel they appeared in.

1993 SkyBox Marvel Masterpieces has just one insert set, X-Men 2099 Dyna-Etch. Averaging 1:9 packs, the set has eight cards. As the name suggests, it highlights characters from the X-Men 2099 comic that debuted in 1993.

The Marvel Masterpieces franchise remains one of the most influential and respected brands in comic cards.

All cards and comics included are USED but i believe to be in very good order, free of creases, significant wear and have sharp corners. Chase and Insert cards are all in heavy duty Ultra Pro Deck Protector sleeves and all cards are in 9 pocket Ultra Pro pages. Very nice pair of Marvel card sets. The 1993 set is not heavily pictured due to restricted space, if you would like more information please ask and i'll send additional pictures.
