After 77+ years of operating & collecting Lionel toy trains, I have decided to start selling off my collection. This Item is from my personal collection. This is the last year I'm running & showing our Train Layout. This Item has always looked great on our layout!!
Note: There was a Guy by the name of Lew or Leon or Len, I don't remember which, but it started with an "L". Anyway, each year he had a booth out in the Orange Hall at the York TCA Train Meet. He would spend all year designing and building these petroleum themed display pieces. None of them were quite right for my layout, so I asked him to design and build a custom piece for me. I made the 3/8" plywood base to fit amongst my O22 Lionel Switches that led into a siding assigned for Lionel Sunoco Tank Cars. He used his creativity and took it from there. If you notice in one of the pictures, you will see my Lionel 455 Oil Derreck, you will see how he made the connecting tube fit into the back of the Lionel bubbling tube. The spacing is such that this tube can slide in or out of the side of the tank (obviously the 455 Derreck is NOT part of this sale, its only being shown to demonstrate how this can be integrated into your layout).
