M10 was an American tank destroyer of World War II mounted a 3-inch (76.2 mm) anti-aircraft gun M3 in a rotating turret on a modified M4 Sherman tank (M4A2 production variant) chassis.  Secondary armament .50 caliber Browning machine gun.  It combined thin but sloped armor with M4's reliable drivetrain and a reasonably potent anti-tank gun mounted in an open-topped turret.  An alternate model, M10A1, which used M4A3 variant chassis, also was produced.  It had a crew of 5 (commander, gunner, loader, driver, assistant driver).  Production of two models ran from September 1942 to December 1943 and October 1942 to November 1943, respectively and 6,406 were built.  M10 was numerically most important U.S. tank destroyer of World War II.  M10 remained in service until end of war.  During World War II, primary user of  M10 tank destroyer was United States, but many were Lend-Leased to United Kingdom, Canada and Free French forces.  Several dozen were sent to Soviet Union.

Solido tanks are aptly named, as they are truly “solid” with very heavy die-cast metal bodies.  They are quite detailed and the quality is fabulous!  Please note that typically, Solido tanks and armored fighting vehicles are made in a 1:50 scale while the support vehicles, which include the jeeps and staff cars, are produced in a slightly larger 1:43 scale.  Also, Solido military and fire fighting models are built so well that over 55 years later they are as good as they were when they were built and first sold.  Truly this is quite remarkable!  Solido die-cast models require no gluing or painting.  Each model is an instant display piece or diorama centerpiece straight from box.  Made from die-cast metal, die-cast military vehicles from Solido are 100% true to scale!  Solido military tanks have following features.

·  Heavy die-cast metal construction that has with some plastic components (e.g., antennas).

·  Rotating turret, elevating cannon, & accurate hull in die-cast metal.

·  Accurate moving metal tracks on detailed rotating wheels.

·  Realistic panel lines, access panels, and surface details located at hull.

·  Pad printed markings and placards that will not fade or peel like decals
