Original regimental (Reservisten) stein. Belonged to Gefreiter (equivalent of PFC) Meixner from 2.Comp. Baden Field Artillery Regiment #14 stationed in Strassburg in 1907 - 1909.

Made of hard porcelain with decorations hand-painted over transfer outline featuring on front a large howitzer with the 14 regiment regalia and a portrait of Friedrich II, the Grand Duke of Baden. The side pictures show scenes of military life with a view of the city of Strassburg.

Magnificent figural lid made in form of an artillery fuse - the famous German Dopp.Z.92 fuse as indicated on it. It was a very advanced for the times, combining a classic percussion system with a rotating disk for the time system.

This type of lid is common for Field Artillery, however, the most common lid was made in the form of Dopp.Z.96 fuse that had a slightly different shape. The lid consists of three parts that are screwed to each other.

Please note that the body of the stein is also made to resemble an artillery shell.

The thumblift is made in the form of a griffin - a part of the coat-of-arms of the Grand Duchy of Baden.

The stein is in excellent condition with no breaks, lines or chips but with some wear to the roster.  It stands impressive 9.5" tall, 0.5L capacity.

Please note - this is original authentic regimental stein from the period. I guarantee my description and dating.
