Edo Period
The fuchi-kashira are signed Soten (Munenori). They are of very high
quality, made in shakudo nanako with gilding and inlays of silver and
copper. The theme is of wise men in a garden playing Go.
The tsuba are made of iron and have the same theme.
The menuki of the katana-sized koshirae are made of shakudo and appear
to be based on the theme of a tiger or lion in a floral setting. The
menuki on the wakizashi koshirae, also in shakudo with gilding, depict
demons (Oni). The whole piece is of very high quality.
The saya are in perfect condition and decorated with black lacquer
glittering with mother-of-pearl. Sageo in pure silk, and tsunagi in very
good condition. Kozuka only on the wakizashi saya, in shakudo nanako
and on the dragon theme.
NO blades, only tsunagi inside (wooden blades).
