Originally a remote control switch. We had issues using them remotely so we disconnected the solenoid that enables the remote use. Works perfectly in manual fashion.

Solenoid is still in place and could be rewired and converted back to remote if you are handy. Maybe it would work better on your layout.

*NOTE: this is no longer remote control and does not come with Lionel wired remote. Also may be missing connector pins on some rails.
