Offered is a lot of 20 pieces of silverplated railroad flatware, made by American Silver Co., I believe, for The IL Central Railroad, & specifically for Central Station in Chicago, sometime in the 1st quarter of the 20th century. Each is marked by the maker on the back. Most also have the word Sectional which refers to a heavier plate in the areas that wear most. On a few is the word Triple, American silver opened their Chicago office in 1902. The company claimed their wares contained 50% more silver than other plate. This pattern is very similar to Somerset, or 1857 World Brand, I've found ads for, circa 1915. The company was bought out by International Silver in 1935. Each of these is stamped with the word CENTRAL on the face of the handle. Included are 4 Tablespoons, 4 Forks, & 12 Teaspoons. In great shape for their age, with little wear. They'd all benefit from a good polish. These are from my grandmother's estate. She lived in the city for over 90 years, & worked in the kitchens of many big hotels in the early 20th century. Don't think you'll be finding more of these for sale anywhere, anytime soon. The lot weighs almost 2#.

I've been buying & selling here for over 20 years. Most of my items have been off the market, from estates, or in collections for decades. They are guaranteed to be as described, and are often OOAK, especially as far as availability on eBay.
