You are viewing a charming late 19th century miniature painting of Venice, Italy. The scene is of St. Mark's Square from the water with a gondola foreground. It is a watercolour painting on paper with what looks like it's original gold mat which dates the painting to about 1880. It has been framed in a tasteful later giltwood frame which compliments the painting well. The revealed image measures about 14 by 8 centimeters. The frame measures about 28 by 21 centimeters. The painting is in good condition with no noticeable damage and strong, unfaded colours. The frame has some minor signs of wear and scratching. I will ship the painting with its original glass.
