This beautiful and rare ceramic vase by Louis Fontinelle, made in France around 1940, features a stunning butterfly design in art deco style. The white colour complements the delicate lines of the gold butterflies, making this piece a perfect addition to any collection of decorative pottery and ceramics. The piece is signed by the artist on the base.  The vase is in excellent condition and ready to be displayed and admired. The gilding around the rim is somewhat worn  as this is the obvious place to hold when lifting the vase, but much of it still survives.
