The Simpson Bandit helmet is one of the few to have had such an impact on the biking world. The original Bandit, created in Texas by Bill Simpson and first introduced in the late 1970s, was actually a NASCAR helmet design that was technically forbidden in Britain. Although it was a very high-quality helmet, it didn't meet UK motorcycle helmet regulations because it was designed for American auto racing. With the newest Simpson bike helmet, the Venom, which is completely compliant with ECE 22-05 regulations and is fully road legal to wear on a bike, riders can now recreate their biking youth. However, it hasn't changed the overall look of them; the Simpson design is still evident. For 2018, Simpson has also improved the build quality and materials. The standard Venom features the most up-to-date composite Maxx-3C shell material, a fully removable and washable lining, a cutting-edge hot-air exhaust system, an inner sun visor, and a visor with a quick-release Pinlock Max Vision attachment.
