She has a penciled on neck date from 10/60, it’s sporting a very low serial # (44XXX) stamped on its 4-bolt neck plate, its original Tortoiseshell Nitro pickgard has that luscious pepperoni color used only in 1959-1960, its original split Pickup is super smooth w/that quintessential “Jamerson” funk tone !, its pot date codes are from the 19th week of 1960, its so cool from its nickel tuners to its threaded saddle bridge, its all original in all respects & still retains its bridge & pickup covers along with every single screw from new, this is perhaps 1 of Leo’s earliest known “Slab Rosewood” P Basses & has a gorgeous patina for a 64 year old original, it plays & feels incredible, other than having a typical but stable crackle under the E tuner & a few dings, she’s still very good & only 8 lbs. 6 oz; 1 of the best & most desirable examples on Earth, complete w/an original early 60’s Black tolex/Orange lined Hard Case.
