SAINT LOUIS MEDICIS CRYSTAL VASE

This piece is a Medicis (small) vase by Saint Louis Crystal. Measures approximately 8½"in. tall. The base is approximately 4.5"in. wide and the opening at the top is approximately 3-3/4"in. diameter . 

Only detail is a tinny chip in the lower end in one of the base corners. (please see detail in photograph). Other than this detail, vase has no chips nor scratches and is in excellent condition.

This astonishing work of crystal glass has.....deserves a throne in history among crystal glassworks. It is simply breath taking to observe the perfection of its diamond cuts. If perfection had a definition it would be joined by this Medicis crystal vase. Only Saint Louis craftsmen could have done it.           

 The production of the Medicis vase requires three of the famous techniques for which the Saint-Louis glassworks are renowned: facet cutting, ball cutting and diamond cutting. Each vase is still produced today in France’s oldest crystal glass factory with all the traditional skill and precise craftsmanship.

 Crystal glass objects with the “Saint-Louis” signature have been among the most outstanding creations of the glass-making industry for almost five-hundred years.

From its square base to the sparkling glints of the diamond, bevel, pearl and rim cuts, Medicis stands as a timeless collection since 1928. Its straight lines have afforded elegance to the most refined interiors, all the way to the Hall of Mirrors at in Versailles.
