Here we are offering this very early embroidered ditty work bag made of fine linen with very detailed dainty embroidered silk flowers and a bow. The bag measures approximately 9" wide by 9-1/4" tall and dates to around 1800 or a bit  earlier. The drawstring is missing and there are a couple of tiny holes and toning to the linen but it's in remarkable condition for a textile of its age. This is one of only a few examples of its age and type I've ever seen in person in decades of dealing in antiques as the few examples are in museum collections. If you collect or appreciate rare antique embroidery or textiles, this is a rare opportunity. Please view the photos and email if you have any questions.
