Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Super Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with two-button footswitch. The amp pushes 40 watts of pure Fender Black Panel clean tone via a pair of JJ 6L6GC power tubes. Perfect for gigging situations and an ideal recording amplifier, the amp provides pristine, muscly Fender cleans until the 4-5 range on the volume dial, where a bit of tube and speaker breakup sends the amp into smooth overdrive. The Reverb is lush and deep, and the Tremolo has a nice pulse, with everything from swampy and slow to choppy rat-a-tat pulses.

All of the original transformers are intact, manufactured by Schumacher (Fender's primary transformer supplier in the Black Panel era), dating between late 1965 and early '66. The preamp features the majority of the original blue Ajax molded capacitors, a central element of the sweet, musical character of Fender's Black Panel-era circuits. All of the original CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes from the 7th week of '66. The power cable has been upgraded to a modern three-prong, and the power supply has been professionally recapped with JJ and F&T caps. The chassis itself is clean, as is the original faceplate and stock witch hat knobs.

The quartet of CTS-made speakers include one original alnico magnet driver, and a trio of later replacements of the same spec circa 1974. All speakers have clean frames, and a modern (vintage-style) speaker harness has been installed. The tube chart is present inside the cabinet, with a "PC" date stamp that translates to March of 1966.

The original smooth black tolex is intact and quite well kept, and the original baffle has been regrilled with silver sparkle grillcloth. Original hardware includes the nickel corners, sphinx glides (feet), chassis straps, and raised "Fender" logo. The chrome tilt-back legs are later substitutions.

A vintage, non-original two-button footswitch is included.
