The next instalment in GlenAllachie's highly-anticipated annual release has arrived: The GlenAllachie 30-year-old Batch 3. To craft this elegant expression, esteemed Master Blender Billy Walker carefully selected eight casks from the finest vintage stock that had been slumbering in the on-site warehouses for over three decades. A true celebration of GlenAllachie's bold and complex house style, this latest batch showcases the merits of patience and perseverance, coupled with Billy Walker's half-century of instinct and knowledge gathered throughout his famed career.
Dating back to the early ’90s, the whisky within each cask boasted full-bodied, smooth character which was further elevated when unified. With heavily Sherried influence, several Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso hogsheads were expertly married with premium American virgin oak casks to create this exquisite limited release. Exuding classic GlenAllachie honeyed charm, expect a refined palate to match this malt’s enticing mahogany hue. Abundant with flavours of stewed plums, warming cinnamon and smooth caramel, this indulgent, cask strength delight is just as exceptional as you would expect.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Deeply Rich Mahogany.
Nose: Bursting with roasted almonds, honey and orchard fruits, with hints of worn leather and butterscotch, followed by orange zest and dark chocolate.
Taste: Lashings of grape must, hazelnut and honeycomb, followed by citrus fruits, toffee brittle and hints of ginger spice with cinnamon and mocha on the finish
