In 1996, the new $2 coin will be introduced and the $2 bank not will no longer be produced. Before the Royal Canadian Mint could release the $2 coin into general circulation, test tokens were provided to the industries affected by the change for testing purposes. Quantities for sale are limited to 20,000 test tokens worldwide.
