~*~Hello and Welcome to the Textile Trunk~*~ ( please follow us on instagram! We are textiletrunk

A wonderful antique French olive harvest sack, dating from the 1700's! I included the photographs that my friend Sean Scherer staged for his new book " Vignettes" ! Gary Graham did the sewing ~ it was an olive sack fabric that they used ~ olive sacks are some of my ALLTIME favorite textiles, I use them all over my house! ! ~*~ This textile is made of hand woven using linen wool ~ The weft stripes are the most wonderful hand dyed tones of blues and pinkish red and I LOVE the plain linen area, ~ There is a blue and garnet ~ it would also be lovely used as a decorative throw ( it has a coarse texture so Maybe not for snuggling up to! ) ~ ~This wonderful textile is hand woven in the South of France and was used for olive harvest ~ wonderful stripes of naturally dyed They are such a fabulous heavy weight. I use these textiles in my living room, stuffed with a massive bolster pillow and throw them on my sofa. I also use them decoratively just draped on the side of the chair. They are some of my favorite textiles and I stuff them with pillow inserts and use them on my sofas as lounging pillows ~ There are glorious signs of time and use on this sack ( please use the zoom feature on the photographs to view closely ) A wonderful rare textile! ~*~
