The Faecal Occult Blood (FOB) Test is a simple test that detects hidden blood in your stool. The presence of blood in the stool is not normal and it requires further tests as it may be a sign of a serious illness such as colon cancer.

For self-testing only.

  • Self-test for the detection of faecal occult blood in stool
  • Very easy to use at home
  • Results within 10 minutes
  • CE approved for self-testing
  • Detects faecal occult blood at 30ng/mL or higher
  • Recommended as routine test for everyone over the age of 50
The FOB test can detect very small amounts of blood (that often can't be seen by the naked eye) in bowel motions. Bleeding is usually caused by something less serious than cancer. However, it may be a sign of an early bowel cancer or a polyp - a growth on the inside of the bowel that could develop into cancer.

If your FOB test gives positive results, it's important to seek medical advice. Your doctor will talk with you about follow-up tests (such as colonoscopy) which check for bowel cancer, polyps or other causes of bleeding.

Remember, bowel cancer is 90% curable if found at an early stage.
Mix 4 drops each of buffer A and B, place the specimen extraction swab into the tube and swirl. Add 3 drops of mixed liquid specimen to the test cassette, wait for 10 minutes and read the results.

Important information:
1. The sole using purpose of the FOB test is to detect occult blood in stool. It should be remembered that the results do not bear the final and certain diagnosis. The test results should be supported by further medical diagnostic methods/
2. In case the symptoms continue even if the test results were negative, it's recommended to seek medical advice. Any result seen as negative does not remove the risk and possibility of colorectal cancer.
