For sale is this attractive 19th century oil painting on artist's board; a still life with fruit.  I would estimate it was painted around 1870 to 1890 and the composition comprises grapes, two pears, and an orange.  The artist has signed the painting with his or her initials which look like S.B.  It is framed in a tasteful mahogany veneered frame with a gold lip.  The painting measures about 8 1/2 inches by 11 1/2 inches.  The frame measures about 12 inches by 15 1/2 inches. The painting is in pretty good condition although the artist glued together some strips of card to the underside and right hand side, perhaps so the painting would fit in the available frame.  Some minor scratching and wear to both painting and frame including some loss to the gilding.  It would make a great feature in someone's kitchen or wine cellar.
