Sphagnum moss has so many uses from being used as a growing medium, to use in  reptile habitats to using as a gorgeous standalone moss in terrariums..
It grows in "mounds" in bog and low/damp areas of the forest. The mounds consist of single strands clumped together and it often spreads to cover entire areas of bog land. The new/green growth grows from and over the old growth sometimes creating sections that are 12" or taller!
Green "flowers" at the tips give way to white, then tan,  then brown at the very bottom.. the older tan/brown sections are often what is used as "peat" in gardening projects.
Sphagnum is as useful as it is pretty...it can hold up to 26 times it's weight in water, making it perfect as ground cover for carnivorous plants, orchids etc. and it has a lovely earthy scent.
You will receive a 8"x10" ziplock bag full of fresh sphagnum moss. It may contain some natural debris, as removing all debris would mean tearing the sections of sphagnum apart, and we prefer to protect the integrity of the moss.
It can be broken into smaller sections to be used across multiple projects.
