Recorded in 1966, 'Shapes in My Mind' was Keith Relf's follow up single to his first solo release 'Mr. Zero'. Sounding closer to Scott Walker than The Yardbirds, 'Shapes in My Mind' was recorded in California with Yardbirds Keith Relf and Jimmy Page backed by a trio of session musicians - the now legendary Hal Blaine (drums), Joe Osborne (bass) and Larry Knechtel (keys). The B-side features 'Blue Sands', a rare instrumental curio credited to The Yardbirds, although actually performed by Columbia label-mates by The Outsiders. The track has been newly sourced and restored for this release. Reissued as a standalone single for the first time, both tracks have been remastered by Phil Kinrade and cut by Jasper Ward at AIR Mastering. Housed in a heavy-stock card sleeve featuring the rare German issue cover with spot UV detailing.
