Up for your consideration is a single New Old Stock (NOS) PIHER 1M5/1.5M (Mega) Ohm 1/2w resistor with a 5% tolerance. These Piher (pronounced like 'Pier') resistors are carbon film resistors, and the brand that Marshall used off and on through the 60's, 70's, and mid 80's Marshall amps have them. They are an excellent choice for whatever application you use them with that requires a resistor. These are very well made, and long lasting resistors. There are thousands of 40+ year old amps with these resistors still occupying their boards that will attest to that!

The 1M5resistors will help you balance your PPIMV pot if one of the dual pots reads much higher than the other one. For example, if the dual pot you're going to use for your PPIMV mod has one pot reading around 258k, with the other pot of the dual gang reading 245k, to get them both to equally read 220k, you would need a 1.5M resistor for the 258k pot, and a 2.2M resistor for the pot reading 245k.

Or, if your dual gang pot is already balanced, and you just want to decrease the output gain a littte, you can reduce the safety resistors on the pot to accomplish that. The opposite is true if you want to increase your output gain, you increase the safty resistors vaule. But be careful increasing them too much, as it could have a negative effect on some power tubes. Just keep an eye on them for a while until you know how they are going to react. If you're one who uses the PPIMV to play your amp at lower volumes, while cranking the master to get good power tube distortion, using your PPIMV at a low setting should help your power tubes last a little longer. I'd also suggest not biasing your tubes at 70%. While this seems to be the internet's common suggested knowledge for biasing output tubes, it's very hard on your output tubes. There's many excellent tones to be had around 50% max didipation, and your tubes will love you for it!

I'm selling these resistors "AS-IS" and I do not accept returns. I've described this listing to the best of my abilities, and have included many pictures for you to examine and to see if this resistor is for you. Please look at all the photos closely, and let them be your guide, along with the description here. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability, so please feel free to ask them.

SHIPPING

I will be shipping your resistor(s) in an envelope that will not have a tracking number for a flat rate of $2. I will be sure to mark when the resistor(s) have been shipped so you can know that your resistor(s) are on the way. This will save you money with shipping, as you will not be paying the shipping cost for one, or more, resistor in a package.

Or, if you want to have your resistor(s) shipped in a box, with the price calculated by your location with a tracking number, let me know in advance and I will send you an invoice so we can get the shipping correct.

Thank you for looking!
