NAND content is primary to UE (European models of the same TV with sw versions 1025 or 1027).
If you are using an older version of the software, the TV works normally after replacing the NAND (the problem with endless bootloop / reboot will be fixed if the problem was with the original NAND), but if you try to recover the smart, problems may occur.
Therefore, I recommend that after replacing the NAND (if the TV is already operating normally), check which version of sw you are using - select in menu "SUPPORT" , "SW UPGRADE" and TV show current version.
If the version is not 1025 or 1027, it is necessary to update the software on UE models via USB or network and after successful software upgrade you can start smart functions.
However, if your TV is a UA or UN model (non-European), then version 1025 or 1027 may not be available to you, so you need to change your TV model to UE by replacing the EEPROM.
Instructions for EEPROM replace UEXXD5700, UEXXD5720, UEXXD5520 or MBs which containing tuner module from other manufacturer (after EEPROM replace is tuning of TV stations with zero result).
If you also need to replace the EEPROM, as in most cases this is not necessary, so please note that the difference between D5700 vs D5720 vs D5520 vs D5500 is only in the tuner, so I only send the EEPROM for the D5500.
So here is how to change:
After replacing the EEPROM (and before also NAND) when the TV is already operating normally, it should be put in STBY with the PWR ON / OFF button by remote commander - STBY mode = red LED still shines.
Now via remote commander press sequence:
INFO
MENU
MUTE
PWR ON / OFF
The TV turns on with the service menu displayed.
Go to the "OPTIONS" menu (up/down arrows) and confirm by OK button and select the "TUNER" menu and set the "AUTO" position (right and left arrows) there.
Then use button "MENU" to go back one step and select "Factory Reset" and confirm twice with "OK".
The TV will be put into STBY.
After new push PWR ON/OFF the CPU will read what type of tuner is installed and will write to the configuration and then start normally and after the initial settings the tuner will work as before.
Warning:
Each time you enter the service menu, even without any changes, the power saving settings will be turn off-reset, which will make the backlight of the display go stronger and backlight LED lifespan will be lower, so I recommend after service menu go to settings and again setting of energy saving ON to compromise with maximum backlight intensity vs normal picture with signal, but with no-signal is still backlight automaticaly low.
The same applies to the PS51D6500, PS51D6900, PS59D6900 plasma TV with the BN41-01605 mainboard. For non-European versions with PN prefix (eg PN51D6500, PN51D6900, PN51D7000 and similar), it is also necessary to perform a sw upgrade before starting of smart.
