Nubia is a region along the Nile river located in what today is northern Sudan and southern Egypt. It was once home to one of the African Empires. This necklace was purchased in 1977 in Nubia while on a world tour. It is very smooth and almost feels like glass as the bone has been polished to a high sheen.
