A fine antique Georgian cut and painted silhouette portrait of a young boy. The cut and painted portrait laid on a paper ground with grey and gilt or bronzed highlights capturing the young boy in a smart dress with frilled collar. The boy with unusual double eyelash detail, perhaps a nod to the hand of the artist. The portrait framed in an ebonised papier mache frame with gilt slip and bunch of grapes hanger, the glass slightly convex.

Overall frame size 12.3cm x 10.4cm. The picture itself approximately 7.4cm x 5.6cm oval.

The portrait in overall good clear condition, some discolouration to the paper ground however this does not detract. The frame with some minor signs of age, a few small knocks and crackle to the papier mache surface, however in solid condition, the hanging loops stable and ready to hang. A nice attractive portrait which displays very well. Please see photographs for condition.
