This is a rare copy of The Responsive Eye by William C. Seitz, a large-format, full-color soft-cover book published in 1966 by the Museum of Modern Art. This is an excellent, rare to find reference book. The condition of the cover is good; the condition of the inside pages is excellent. The cover shows some wear and a stain on the back. There is a sticker on the front; it may be removable; however, I leave that up to the buyer. The pages themselves are in excellent condion with no marginalia or highlighting. The colors of the plates show no fading, no creasing or rips, and there are no stains, etc. This is an excellent reference copy, and due to rarity, a nice collector’s item for those who care less about the outer appearance. As always, please look at ALL included photos to judge the item's condition for yourself as you may have different or more exacting requirements than I do. I do my best to document the piece completely (including all noticeable flaws), but I am always happy to provide additional photos or answers questions prior to purchase.

*Unless otherwise requested, all will be sent via USPS media mail and shipped according to weight. They will be boxed and well packaged to preserve the condition of the book – attested to by past buyers in our feedback!

POLICIES

Vintage items are meant to be loved and enjoyed by their new owners, so I want you to be happy with your purchase! Even the best kept vintage and antique items generally show minor imperfections due to age or use, I always note any noticeable flaws, regardless of how minor. My photos are essential to my description (you always get the exact item shown!), so look carefully and ask questions or for additional photos prior to purchase.

RETURNS & CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

I value my customers and appreciate your choice to spend your money and time purchasing from me. My goal is to always treat my customers as I I want to be. Mistakes happen to the best of us, but my mistake is still my fault and, therefore, it is my (not your) responsibility to correct that mistake. If I make a mistake in the listing I will ALWAYS approve a full refund.

  • If you are dissatisfied for any reason, please let me know before leaving negative feedback and prior to opening a case so I can address your concerns. Likewise, if you are happy with your purchase, please leave positive feedback. Feedback helps other customers know a vendor is honest and reliable, and your feedback allows me to continue to build on my strong reputation. Thank you for your assistance!
  • I do my best to leave feedback for my customers, but please be patient as this may take me a bit to get to.
  • No other returns allowed, including remorse buys.

  • Items marked as gold have been tested for purity (without acid contact to preserve the integrity of the piece).
  • My home is smoke, pet, and fragrance free; however, I do not know an item’s history or previous storage. I will do my best to list any strong, lingering fragrances or musty smells for those who are sensitive (it affects me, so I get it!).
  • Background boxes or displays are not included (unless noted).
  • Packages do not show items purchased; however, they will have an official eBay label.

“BEST OFFER” OPTIONS & AUCTIONS:

Good luck with your bidding, and may the worthiest win the auction! A fight to the death does not count as winning, so here is a shortened version of eBay's practice regarding bidding & offers. Per eBay:

  • BEST OFFERS: Items with this option mean I will consider all reasonable offers and may accept your bid or counter you. eBay allows four chances to submit offers, so you may continue to “haggle” :) in the hopes we can come to a reasonable compromise! But do remember the items remain active and may be purchased by someone else during that time.
  • AUCTIONS: Anyone can bid, but bid only the amount you are comfortable paying. Entering a bid is a contract with the seller and with eBay.
  • AUCTIONS WITH “BUY NOW” OPTIONS: If this option shows up, you may purchase the item at that price and beat any ensuing bidding war! If someone chooses the option to Buy Now before bidding begins, the auction will end and the item will no longer be available for purchase. Once a bid has been place, the action is active, and the Buy Now is no longer available. Please do not give me an offer once bidding has begun as it is not fair to those who have, in good faith, entered into the auction. Buy Now prices are non-negotiable.
  • PAYMENT FOR THE WINNING BID: This is due within 72 hours. I may be able to temporarily hold the item, but you must message me; otherwise, eBay automatically begins a non-payment case.

 PAYMENT & SHIPPING

All items ship via USPS Ground Advantage unless otherwise noted.
