This is a stunning early 1930s Mk I Wahl Eversharp Kashmir (green) 10-sided Doric mechanical pencil in perfect working order and in genuinely excellent condition.  It has the Gold Seal stamp (lifetime warranty), roller clip, eraser, box, and lots of leads.

The pencil's condition is simply excellent - no cracks, splits, or damage.  Some age-related wear is visible under magnification.  All metalwork is in excellent condition - no brassing or age marks.  The rollerball clip is rolling smoothly.  The colour of the Kashmir celluloid is superb.

The cap slides off to reveal the gold coloured mechanism and eraser, the eraser is withdrawn to access the lead storage.  The eraser is  somewhat hardened but appears unused - and the eraser holder is also stamped "EVERSHARP" and "ERASER No. 5".  The cap-turn propel-repel mechanism is working perfectly.

The cap is stamped in vertical lettering:  EVERSHARP with "MADE IN USA" in small lettering under.  

This particular model (there were many subtle variations) first appeared when the DORIC was launched in 1931 (see catalogue pages in the photographs), and was the poster-version which lead the adverts and appears to have lasted until c. 1935.  Note that the pens had 12 sides, the pencils had 10.

The pencil is 13.5cm long, 1.0cm diameter and weighs 17.6g.

The pencil is cased in its Wahl box, which is lined with cream silk and dark brown velvet.  All lettering to the interior of the box is clean and sharp, there are some lead-dust marks.  The exterior of the box has some wear and tear but has done a very good job of protecting the Doric.   The pencil is accompanied by a vintage RED TOP EVERSHARP LEADS box containing 4 Red Top tins of soft (B grade) leads.  Also included are Doric instructions (non original) and an Eversharp Gold Seal Guarantee for Life (non original).
