Offered is a set of genuine early American hand forged iron cooking utensils, which likely originated from Pennsylvania or further East in the 17th or 18th centuries. These pieces exhibit the heavy wear you'd expect to see in hearth wares of that vintage. The spatula & fork are notably rounded from generations of use. Beautiful early ironwork, including touch marks and decorations on the shafts, though much of it has faded, from extensive handling. These are the epitome of what a primitive should be. Hung by the cooking hearth of my early WI home for decades, but don't have that kind of fireplace in my IA territorial. Aside from wear, the only damage to note is a small piece missing from the tip of the rat tail on the back of the fork, that in no way prohibits it from hanging, and the sponn has a few small holes in the bowl. Fork is 16" long. spatula 17", spoon & sieve 19". Bowls on the spoons are 5 1/4" in dia..Were probably marked by the blacksmith, but that has also disappeared through the ages. Won't find a more authentic set out there.

I've been buying & selling here for over 20 years. Most of my items have been off the market, from estates or in collections for decades. They are guaranteed to be as described, and are often OOAK, especially as far as availability on eBay.
