The plates each feature classically painted depiction of cupid with Venus and another women in a garden. The plates have a blue background with a floral pattern of gold gilding around the rim and edge. There are added hand-painted marks to the plate which stand out in relief, including white stipples on the paintings and around the outside edge. The paintings marked "Heinrich" in small writing. The back of each plate is stamped "Royal Bayreuth Bavaria", along with the number 18 in the middle and 516 on the outside of the base. 

The plates are in good condition with no chips or cracks. They have light surface wear consistent with their age and gentle treatment. Most notably, the plate with the reclining cupid has two white stipples around the edge that have been knocked away due to either manufacturing or later damage. Please see pictures for condition.

The plates measure roughly 8 1/2" in diameter and sit 1" high.
