This unusually large carved buckle is a single, no other matching part...suggesting it was to be linked to a belt, perhaps sewn to it.  The color is quite lovely and translucent.  There are traces of gold coloration on the carved areas of fins.  It measures approx 4 1/2" W x 3" H x 1/4" D, and weighs approx 2 1/2 oz.  It sure looks like Bakelite, though might be a colored Lucite...it can pass for Bakelite in appearance.  CHECK OUT MY OTHER ITEMS.
