Alfred Meakin, CHARLOTTE, Bowl & Pitcher Set, Brown Transferware, Staffordshire, England, Cottage Chic Set

A beautiful Set to adorn your foyer or dining room table. A matching Bowl and Pitcher Set Made in Staffordshire England by Alfred Meakin. The pattern Called Charlotte Brown is engraved from original drawings by J. Cutts, the designer, circa 1830's (I believe the name Charlotte was his wife's name). This pattern was reproduced by Alfred Meakin Dinnerware England in permanent colours beginning in the 1970's. This pattern is also made in other colors.

It is a stunning pattern of a basket/urn filled with blooming florals. The bowl is decorated both inside and around the outside and has a slightly scalloped rim with an embossed line. The pitcher has the pattern on both the front and back sides, along the handle and on the inner spout. The top of the handle also as some embossed details.

Size: Bowl 9.25" Wide, 2-7/8" High; Pitcher which holds 4.5 Cups is 7" High x 6-3/8" from Spout to Handle.
